The Toy Shop

Once upon a time on a quiet street in an old city there was a Toy Shop. And there was never a day that some one did not stop to look at the shop window. One day it might be filled with bright balloons that were like great colored lights; and the next with jumping-jacks. Each chapter in this book relates the story of one of the toys in this shop of long ago: why it was chosen, the occasion of its purchase, the child who received it, and the imaginative play the toy inspired.
